Frankfurt's Museumsufer (Museum Embankment) unites around 40 museums along both banks of the Main between Eiserner Steg and Friedensbrücke — one of the densest museum districts in Europe. Major institutions such as the Städel Museum, Senckenberg Nature Museum, Schirn Kunsthalle, Liebieghaus and the Historical Museum Frankfurt are just a few minutes' walk from each other. The range spans Old Masters and natural history to film, contemporary photography and applied art. This app collects all current exhibitions and events daily — not only from the official Museumsufer museums, but also from additional Frankfurt museums and exhibition venues. Everything on a single, searchable page with prices, calendar export and public transport connections via RMV.
Currently 32 museums in Frankfurt and Offenbach with active programmes: Jüdisches Museum Frankfurt, Senckenberg Naturmuseum, DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung, Städel Museum, MGGU – Museum Giersch der Goethe-Universität, Archäologisches Museum Frankfurt, Historisches Museum Frankfurt, Deutsches Architekturmuseum (DAM), Museum für Kommunikation Frankfurt, Junges Museum Frankfurt, Museum Angewandte Kunst, Bibelhaus ErlebnisMuseum, Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, Institut für Stadtgeschichte, TOWER MMK – MUSEUM MMK FÜR MODERNE KUNST, Deutsches Ledermuseum Offenbach am Main, EXPERIMINTA ScienceCenter, Jüdisches Museum / Museum Judengasse Frankfurt, Frankfurter Bürgerstiftung im Holzhausenschlösschen, Weltkulturen Museum, ZOLLAMT MMK – MUSEUM MMK FÜR MODERNE KUNST, Caricatura Museum Frankfurt – Museum für Komische Kunst, Dommuseum Frankfurt, Ikonenmuseum Frankfurt, Verkehrsmuseum Frankfurt am Main, SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT, Deutsches Romantik-Museum / Freies Deutsches Hochstift, Frankfurter Goethe-Haus / Freies Deutsches Hochstift, Frankfurter Kunstverein, MUSEUM MMK – MUSEUM MMK FÜR MODERNE KUNST and Wollheim Memorial.

Data is collected automatically from participating museum websites every day at 6 a.m. Translations into English and French are provided by DeepL.
Yes, museumsufer.app is completely free, with no registration and no app store required. The site works as a Progressive Web App directly in the browser.
The app is available in German, English and French. Event titles and descriptions are translated automatically.
Frankfurt has over 40 museums — and they deserve a better overview than the one they got. This app pulls exhibitions and events from every museum into one fast, searchable page. No app store, no account, no fuss.
When you enable distance sorting, your location is rounded to a grid (~200 m) and sent to the RMV API to estimate travel times — your exact position is never stored or shared. No personal data is collected.
Subscribe via the "Push Digest" button or the footer link. Three time slots are available: morning (07:00), afternoon (17:00) and a weekly Sunday overview (09:00). Notifications can optionally be restricted to specific museums. Sign-up is anonymous — no account, no email — and can be cancelled at any time. On iOS, the site must first be added to the home screen as a web app.
