Open children's workshop

The children’s workshop is supervised by members of the educational teams, who provide an introduction and offer assistance as needed. The workshop’s open-concept approach is designed to encourage self-exploration and experimentation—fostering curiosity and strengthening self-directed learning skills based on each child’s interests. During this tour of the storage facility, you’ll get to see treasures that are usually hidden from view and learn more about the workings of a museum. Date: Every first Friday of the month at 2:00 p.m. Location: Philipp-Reis-Straße 4–8, 63150 Heusenstamm Duration: approx. 90 minutes Cost: €14 for adults, €8 for children ages 6 and up, €10 reduced rate with valid ID.

Bleating Telephone Sheep - TribuT by Jean-Luc Cornec

The installation *TribuT* by Jean-Luc Cornec, created in 1989, is on display in the museum’s foyer. It consists of sheep formed from wire, telephones, telephone cords, and telephone receivers. Every first Sunday of the month, the sheep in this flock bleat in different tones generated by a random number generator. The transformation of the telephone into a sheep, the ringing tones, and the flock open up several possible interpretations.

Children's Workshop: Open Summer Workshop

During the Hessian school vacation periods, the Children’s Workshop has special afternoon hours and offers three time slots each day for children ages 4 and up and families. During the fall break, we are offering the following dates: Oct. 6, Oct. 7, Oct. 8, Oct. 13, Oct. 14, and Oct. 15. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 1:30–2:30 p.m., 2:30–3:30 p.m., 3:30–4:30 p.m. Tickets are available on-site up to 15 minutes before the start of each workshop (subject to availability)
